STUFF ABOUT ME

I've worked in advertising as a copywriter since before the Y2K bug wreaked havoc on humanity.

In that time I have created a wide array of campaigns for the AFL, launched the Big Bash League for Cricket Australia, re-thought what the University of Melbourne stands for, electrocuted people’s faces for the Melbourne International Film Festival (no, really!), created the global Wrigley’s Extra “Food Creatures”, made a pub with no beer for Schweppes, and launched the first ever truly funny Christmas Crackers for Camp Quality with jokes written by comedians.

In 2016, I was the 16th most awarded copywriter in the world (and the highest ranked in Australia) which made my kids very proud indeed. Well, they said they were. I'm still not sure they were telling the truth- which proves they really are the children of an ad guy.

I CAN HELP UNLOCK YOUR SUPER POWER OF CREATIVITY

Hi, my name is Alex Wadelton and I help businesses, people, schools, and people just like you be more creative through workshops, keynotes, and books.

I also hold the official Guinness world record for longest duration touching tongue to nose. If that’s not enough I have:

  • danced a marathon in my living room during the world’s longest COVID lockdown,

  • plucked my hair out for charity,

  • convinced a comedian to become an instagram model,

  • launched the Big Bash League,

  • won more than a hundred international advertising awards,

  • helped convince Australian supermarkets to stop their short-term plastic promotions,

  • got a statue made of the iconic stance against racism by Nicky Winmar with the AFL,

  • appeared on The Project five times,

  • raised over 2 million dollars for charity in my spare time, and

  • had two books with Russel Howcroft titled The Right-brain Workout sell almost 20,000 copies in Australia (and even translated into German!)

Have a wander around my site and you’ll find how I’ve used creativity over the last twenty plus years to help countless multinational brands, charities, sporting leagues, and organisations achieve great things.

I’m available to deliver keynote addresses on the power of creativity, to facilitate workshops that can help unlock your or your organisation’s creative potential, and to do stuff with creativity that really makes a positive impact.

ENJOY THE MAGIC OF
EVERY DAY THINGS

I’ve just released a new book titled: “How to Drink a Glass of Water”. Yes, really. You may think it’s a silly title. And it is. Because we all drink glasses of water everyday. But when you slow down and think about every aspect of a glass of water, magical things happen.

You think about all of the people involved in bringing you the water.

You think about how the water got to you.

Where it will go.

The past, the present, and the infinite future.

You see, when you read “How to Drink a Glass of Water” while drinking a glass of water, by the end your glass will be empty, but your cup will be full. You can buy it below or read more here.

As you read it, you can also think how remarkable it is that you can instantly download a book with just a few taps of your fingers.

What would Shakespeare have made of such a miracle? Isn’t it truly amazing to be alive in such a time where miraculous inventions like the internet are considered mundane?

This is the beauty of the philosophy behind “How to Drink a Glass of Water.”
